About Us
About The Children's Place
Since 1981, The Children's Place has been a trusted provider of childcare services to the greater San Carlos community. Originally opened by the Community United Church of Christ in San Carlos to meet the needs of working parents, we continue to offer a non-sectarian program with a qualified and experienced teaching staff.

At The Children's Place, we are committed to supporting the development of the whole child by offering a variety of activities that foster self-confidence, creativity, and social development. Our goal is to encourage young children to explore, create, and experiment at their own pace in a loving and nurturing environment.
Our program provides a diverse range of experiences in art, science, music, drama, gymnastics, and movement, which are designed to promote intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Our experienced and compassionate staff work closely with parents to create an individualized learning plan for each child, and provide ongoing communication and support throughout the program.
At The Children's Place, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we are dedicated to helping them achieve this through a supportive and engaging learning environment. Thank you for considering The Children's Place for your childcare needs.

More About Our Program
The Children's Place offers full-day programs for children aged 2 years through Pre-Kindergarten. We offer flexible scheduling, with options for 2, 3, or 5 days a week. While we do not offer a half-day program, parents are welcome to choose the hours of attendance that work best for their child within our operating hours. For an added fee, part-time children may attend an additional day if space is available on the chosen day.

We are open year-round, Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Visitors are always welcome, and we encourage you to schedule a visit by calling or emailing info@tcppreschool.org.
Please note that we are closed on all major holidays.
At The Children's Place, we believe that play and exploration are crucial to a child's development. That's why we offer a range of indoor play equipment and enrichment classes, including access to Mahany Hall, a large multipurpose room used for indoor play and rainy-day activities.
We maintain small class sizes of 12 students with 2 teachers in each class to provide individualized attention and support for each child's needs.
As a non-profit, The Children's Place is operated under the advisement of a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets the fourth Thursday of each month via Zoom. For inquiries about the Board of Directors, please email tcp@uccsc.org.
